National Garden Week Book Donations
from the Lake George Community Garden Club
Every year our national organization, National Garden Clubs, Inc., celebrates National Garden Week. Each year, in honor of NGW, our Club donates books on gardening and related subjects to five of our local libraries. During National Garden Week, always celebrated in June, our garden club members design and place a special NGW display in each of the libraries featuring a floral arrangement or a plant, a poster and a proclamation from National and the book we have donated.
Thanks to our librarians at Bolton (Megan Baker), Caldwell-Lake George (Marie Ellsworth), Crandall (Andrea Herman) and Hillview (Diamond Point) (Jane O'Connell) and our member and contact at the Mountainside Free Library (Cleverdale), Jean Meyer, we have a great selection this year.
Thanks also to our members Betsy Birchenough, Judith Tully, Nancy Boericke, Dodie Kunz and Charlie McDonough. Many hands made it light work and a fun project .... Enjoy the displays and check out these books.
The more you know; the more fun it is!
